VIA to sell tickets of shuttle service to Bengaluru International Airport

BANGALORE (Wednesday) – Bangalore-based online travel agent VIA has entered into an exclusive tie-up with BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) for its shuttle service to the Bengaluru International Airport.

Forty air-conditioned Volvo buses named ‘Vayu Vajra’ will ply across seven destinations in the city and will cover nine routes every 15 minutes. The bus fare, depending on the distance, will range from Rs 80 to Rs 200. There is also a cheaper option of 116 non-AC buses named ‘Suvarna,’ which will ply during peak hours in the morning and evening and the fare will range between Rs 20 and Rs 90.

BMTC has seven special pick-up and drop points conveniently located around the city for commuters to board the bus. Commuters can purchase tickets by dialling a special number 139 dedicated to the shuttle service, through VIA’s website www.viaworld.in, call centre or offline agents.

Fifteen seats have been reserved for VIA on every BMTC bus plying to the airport. “Commuters will have to book at least three hours in advance for a confirmed ticket.(source: travelbizmonitor.com)
