CEED 2009 Eligibility Criteria, Entrance Exam, Important Dates

CEED 2009: Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is held all over India for admission to courses like Master of Design (M.Des. ) in various reputed institutes all over India and also to Ph.D. Programmes in Design in some of the institutes.

Available Courses :

The following corses are available after qualifying the examination :

• Master of Design Programmes :

This program is available in institutes like IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur in different fields.

• Ph.D Programmes in Design

Eligibility criteria :

The applying candidate must fall under given condition :
• The candidate must have completed his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design, or equivalent OR
• The candidate must have complete his Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT, or equivalent) OR
• The candidate must have done B.F.A. (4 year professional programme) after his 10+2 OR
• The candidate must have done G.D. Art (5 year programme ) after his 10th with one year professional experience OR
• The candidate having Master’s degree in Arts/Science/Computer Applications.

The candidate can take CEED any number of times and there is no age limit for this entrance test. For more details about the eligibility and program details, visit the website of the respective institute you want to go for. The websites are :

Important dates:
1. 22-09-08 to 24-10-08 – online availability of application forms.
2. 22-09-08 to 17-10-08 – availability of application forms by post.
3. 22-09-08 to 03-11-08 – availability of application forms from the college counter.
4. 03-11-08 – deadline for submission of completed application forms.
5. 18-01-09 – date of examination and the timings are from 2:00pm to 5:00pm

Examination Pattern :
The exam will be basically divided into two sections. The first section would include drawing skills , aesthetic sensibility creativity , problem identification ability and your approach to visual and Mechanical design. The second part will be mainly objective type and will be covering visualization, creativity, design and general awareness, and comprehension.
