UPSC NDA 2009 Entrance Exam Dates, Eligibility, Vacancies

Union Public Service commission (UPSC) also conducts National Defense Academy and Naval Academy (NDA) Entrance Exam for helping the nation by providing defense personnel’s to the Nation. NDA Exam is conducted to get an admission into Army, Navy, and Air Force department.

Important dates:
• Commencement of Application form: from October 18, 2008.
• Last date of submission of application form: November 17, 2008.
• Date of Examination: April 19, 2009.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidate must have cleared 10+2 education level.
• Those candidates who are currently pursuing in 12th class can also apply for the entrance examination.
• Candidate must be more than 16 years and less than 19 years of age.
• Those candidates who are suspended by the Ministry of Defense in any type of commission shall not be eligible for admission into the examination and if admitted, their candidature will be cancelled.
• Those candidates who cannot qualify INSB/PABT earlier are not eligible for Air Force.
• Physical fitness:
~ Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination.
~ A candidate who has resigned or withdrawn on disciplinary grounds from any of the training academics of Armed Forces is not eligible to apply.

Description of Seats:
• Total number of Vacancies: 339
• Army seats: 195
• Navy seats: 39
• Air Force: 66
• Executive Branch of Naval Academy: 66

Description of Examination:
• Examination will be divided into 2 parts:
~ Mathematics which will comprise of 300 marks.
~ General ability Test comprising of 600 marks.
• The duration of examination will be 5 hours, each exam of 2 and half hour.
• Total marks of the examination: 900 marks.
